Frieda Joyce (Fields) Knight, 64, of Indianapolis passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her home. Frieda was born on Thursday, February 23, 1961, in Batesville; daughter of Eugene and Vina (Lewis) Fields. She married the love of her life, Walter Steven Knight, on April 26, 2005, and he survives her. Frieda worked for Pearson Education. She was known to be a very sassy yet loving person. She enjoyed reading and watching movies, as well as cooking and baking.
Frieda will be missed by her husband Walter Steven Knight of Indianapolis; stepson Walter (Kim) Steven Knight Jr. of Indianapolis; stepdaughter Shannon (Charlie) Conger of Florida; brothers Gerald and Oliver Fields of Rushville; sister Audrey (Barry) Fields of Cross Plains; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Vina Fields; brothers Eugene Fields, Ervin Keith Fields, Gregory “Greg: Fields, Kenneth Fields, and Curtis Fields; sister Loretta Chatham; brothers-in-law Dana Chatham and Rick Knight; and beloved pets Dusty and Starly.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Frieda from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Old German Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Frieda to Ripley County Humane Society.
