OSGOOD — A free movie event is ongoing tonight for veterans of World War II, the Vietnam War and the Korean War.
Honor Flight the Movie will be shown at the Damm Theatre at 6:30 p.m.
It is a documentary about four living World War II veterans and a Midwest community coming together to give them the trip of a lifetime. Volunteer’s race against the clock to fly thousands of veterans to Washington, DC to see the memorial constructed for them in 2005, nearly 60 years after the War.
That movie can become a reality for local veterans.
After the film there will be a Q&A session with a board member of the Indianapolis Honor Flight hub and veterans and their families can learn about upcoming flights and how to get involved. The trip to Washington, DC is completely free for veterans.
There is also a free movie event at the Liberty Park Pavilion in Batesville tonight. The featured film is Despicable Me 2, a computer-animated comedy film and the sequel to the 2010 animated film Despicable Me.
Anyone is welcome to attend the event presented by Batesville Park and Recreation and co-sponsored by the Gibson Theatre. Coolers and chairs are welcome and free popcorn will be available. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m.
