(Greensburg, IN) – Franklin Street on the east side of the Greensburg square has reopened sooner than expected.
It was closed to motor vehicle traffic in May while crews made street, curb, sidewalk, electric, and utility improvements.
Pedestrian traffic was maintained and businesses stayed open during the work, which was targeted for completion around September 1.
The project was funded by a combination of Community Crossings, INDOT, READI 1.0, federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and local dollars.
It’s part of a two-phased downtown street rehab.
Up next is storm water improvements on Washington Street from Franklin to Monfort.
