BROOKVILLE, IN — Franklin County Commissioners heard this week from 9-1-1 Supervisor Jon Hundley that Fayette County will no longer provide ambulance support to Franklin County.
None of the counties surrounding Franklin County are able to provide backup ambulances because of an EMS personnel shortage throughout the area.
Franklin County currently has just two ambulances, which creates a problem for 9-1-1 dispatchers, who have to figure out what to do if a call comes but an ambulance is not available.
