Franklin County Student Count Above State Takeover Threshold

(Brookville, IN) – Superintendent Dustin Gehring recently reported to the Franklin County School Board that the corporation’s student count for this month is above the 1,900 threshold.

That’s the minimum number Indiana school corporations must meet to avoid a potential state takeover and the closing or sale of underused school buildings.

Meanwhile, the school board and corporation teachers have signed off on a new one-year contract, in which teachers will receive a 5.4% pay raise.

Terms of the deal are retroactive to July 1.
