Brookville, In. — Franklin County Circuit Court judge Clay Kellerman is warning residents about a scam using a phone from his office.
Scammers appearing to call from the number, 765-647-4186 are telling residents they have outstanding checks that must be taken care of. The scammers threaten the residents by saying, “In order to stop further legal action the check amount must be paid immediately.”
The judge reminds the public that notices of that type from the court are made via mail.
Residents are urged to ask for the name
