FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — Franklin County Commissioner, Tom Linkel, offered a new EMS contract for $300,000 for one year, and Franklin County EMS President, Roy Rosenberger, agreed to it.
According to the Franklin County Observer, Franklin County EMS showed that they were losing $220,000 per year under the current county contract.
That contract was for $150,000.
Franklin County EMS says that they went to an advanced level of service in 2016, which is the reason for the loss of money.
The EMS first asked for a total of $370,000 but settled on $300,000.
The additional appropriation requires the full council to vote on the matter with only a majority vote needed.
A formal contract still has to be voted on and signed.
