BROOKVILLE, IN — The Franklin County Courthouse and Government Center were both shut down Friday.
Franklin County Commissioner Tom Linkel discussed the matter at Monday morning’s Commissioners meeting.
“We had a couple of close contacts within the Government Center and, out of safety, we closed the Government Center (and Courthouse) Friday just get everybody out of here and so we could sanitize everything…sanitize the building and be prepared and open for this morning,” said Linkel.
Meanwhile, commissioners received an update from Franklin County Health Department Nursing Supervisor Deb Tibbets on Friday’s COVID-19 cases for the county.
“Our total cases are 2,136,” said Tibbets. “I did get word of a couple of new hospitalizations and we did have one new death, which was a gentleman in his 50s, which was COVID-related.”
Tibbets added testing and vaccinations will be available locally this Friday and Saturday.
“We are doing a mobile clinic on the 10th and 11th from Noon until 8,” said Tibbets. “The state (Indiana Department of Health) is going to come down, they’re going to do vaccinations – both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson. And they’re also going to do COVID testing.”
The clinic will be held at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
