
The Eagles led 10-7 after the first quarter, but the Wildcats outscored Jac-Cen-Del 17-8 in the second quarter to take a 24-20 lead into halftime. Franklin County then won the third quarter 19-7 to build a 43-27 advantage, and the Wildcats closed it out from there.
Jerod Rauch led Franklin County with 15 points, including nine in the fourth quarter. Ezra Kolb scored 14, Max Foster added 13, and Carson Allen finished with 10 as four Wildcats reached double figures.
Jac-Cen-Del was led by Darian Grieshop with 12 points. Brody Huff and Will Meyer scored eight apiece, and Neil Sullivan added four.
In his pregame interview on WRBI, Jac-Cen-Del coach Scott Smith said, “At this stage, we’re looking for improvement.” Jac-Cen-Del entered the night 3-8 overall and dropped to 3-9 with the loss.
Franklin County coach Mark Foster said before tipoff his team has needed steady leadership from Brady Foster at point guard this season, and credited him for stepping up in that role. Foster said Brady Foster “does whatever he can to help the team win.” Foster also praised Evan Flaspohler’s approach off the bench, saying, “Evan… he’s the ultimate teammate.”
Franklin County improved to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in EIAC play. The Wildcats return home Friday night to host Batesville. Jac-Cen-Del is back in action Saturday night at home against Lawrenceburg.
