(Brookville, IN) – They cut the ribbon Wednesday evening for the Franklin County Farmers Mutual 4-H Expo Hall at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Brookville.
The $1.6 million facility was , for the most part, completed in time for this year’s Franklin County 4-H Fair, which runs July 15-20.
There are still a few other items that need to be taken care of in and around the building, such as blacktopping and concrete installation.
In addition to the 4-h Fair, the building will be available throughout the year for 4-H club meetings and can rented for weddings, family and class reunions, and other social events.
It can also be used for a mass shelter area in case of a disaster, as well as other emergency needs.
The inside features seating for up to 800 people; a concession stand; state-of-the-art restrooms, plus heating and air conditioning.
Community members, non-Franklin County residents, and local businesses donated to make the project a reality.
Donations are still being accepted via the Franklin County 4-H Association Building Pass-Through Fund at the Franklin County Community Foundation, or by contacting Board member Sharon Volk at (765) 265-3466 or [email protected].
