(Franklin County, IN) – Community Corrections is up and running as part of Franklin County Court Services, as of January 1, 2026.

Prior to this year, Franklin County was one of only three counties in Indiana without the program.

Community Corrections is an intermediate sentencing placement that gives Court Services the ability to provide more stringent supervision of offenders, while also requiring them to complete services in an effort to reduce repeat offenses.

When sentenced to Community Corrections, offenders will be placed on home detention or daily reporting and required to complete random drug screening, intensive out-patient drug treatment, anger management/domestic violence intervention courses, and/or community service locally.

Circuit Court Judges Clay Kellerman and Alex Dudley implemented Community Corrections at no cost to Franklin County. The Indiana Department of Corrections awarded Franklin County Courts a yearly $175,445 grant to operate the program.

This funding is also being used to partner with Nathan Striegler of Whitewater Counseling, who will conduct the intensive out-patient drug treatment and anger management/domestic violence intervention programming. All supervision and services are being conducted in Brookville at the Court Services office.

“Judge Kellerman and I believe that Community Corrections will substantially benefit our community. Not only will it allow us to better supervise offenders, but through services such as drug treatment and/or anger management and domestic violence intervention, it will teach them necessary skills in an effort to allow them to be productive members of our community rather than repeat offenders once they are no longer under Court supervision.” said Judge Dudley.

“Judge Kellerman and I began working on implementing Community Corrections as soon as I took office last year in hopes of having this operating by 2026.” Judge Dudley added. “It was an ambitious goal, but we have seen the successes it has created in surrounding counties. It would not have been possible without the tireless work of our new Director of Court Services and Director of Community Corrections Amanda Tebbe.”

Franklin County Court Services is now comprised of probation and community corrections. Tebbe, who has been a probation officer since 2017, was promoted to both the Community Corrections  Court Services director positions.

In addition to Tebbe and Stiegler, Ande Beasley was hired as a Case Manager to supervise the offenders placed on Community Corrections.
