(Brookville, IN) – The Franklin County Democratic Party held its reorganization meeting on Saturday.
Those elected to the Central Committee were Chair Christina Chappelow Persson; Vice-Chair David Kirk; Secretary Carol Wiley, and Treasurer Monica Yane, all of whom will serve a four-year-term.
“I decided to step up and run for chair of the Franklin County Democratic Party primarily because I feel that we need to protect our democracy and that we need to be the people’s party once again,” Persson said. “Now more than ever, we need to welcome and support candidates from all walks of life, candidates who will truly serve the people.”
Twenty-two citizens and party members attended the meeting, which officials believe is the largest attendance at a local Democratic Party meeting in some time.
Victoria Martz, who ran for State Representative in House District 55 last November, was a special guest at the meeting.
