(Greensburg, IN) – The Hospital Foundation of Decatur County (Hospital Foundation) is proud to announce that $7,500 was distributed in 2024 to support Decatur County Memorial Hospital’s (DCMH) preventative health screening events, reinforcing their commitment to the health and well-being of the community.
These screenings provide essential access to care to community members who may not receive regular check-ups, ensuring those in need receive critical health evaluations they might otherwise go without. Thanks to these efforts, DCMH has detected serious conditions—like undiagnosed cancer—allowing individuals to seek the care they need.
“Regular health screenings play a key role in identifying potential health issues before they become significant concerns,” said Jenny Simon, Chief Nursing Officer at DCMH. “Early detection through screenings can lead to better management of chronic diseases, ultimately improving health outcomes and quality of life.”
At DCMH’s most recent health screening event, over 77% of attendees were advised to seek follow-up care based on their screening results, highlighting the critical need for these preventative screenings.
