On Wednesday, former Franklin County High School softball standout Kamryn McCool broke the Mount St. Joseph career strikeout record with 401. She surpassed MSJ Hall of Famer Kati Stroub-Young.
The record was set in game one of a double header against Wittenberg University. McCool fanned eight batters over six innings and surrendered just one hit.
The Lions senior came back to pitch a scoreless seventh inning during game two to earn a save in the 5-2 victory.
