(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Council voted 5-0 Monday night following Second Reading in favor of an ordinance regulating food trucks operating in town.

The ordinance draft was adjusted in some spots between the First Reading last month and this month.

William Millburn and his wife operate “That’s A Wrap,” and he says the ordinance is fair and reasonable, in that council is willing to adjust the rules as needed.

Millburn says he read the draft proposed last month and had some objections, which he voiced to council members.

He says they informed him that some words, phrases, and terms were removed leading up to Monday night’s reading and adoption of the rules.

Among other things, fees to reserve spots were established; regular parking areas for food trucks will be set up in the lot across from Weigel Funeral Home, and along Pearl Street in the Village Shopping area, and language was added to address concerns brought up last month about how non-profits setting up at festivals and similar events would be in compliance.
