Food Pantry Changes Distribution Hours for Summer Months

(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Food Pantry is changing Wednesday distribution hours to 1 to 5 p.m. beginning in June.

The pantry serves those who live in Franklin and Ripley counties within the Batesville Community School Corporation who do not have adequate income to provide food for their families.

An average of 230 families are served each month, which represents nearly 800 people, including infants, children, adults, seniors and veterans.

For many years, the pantry has distributed food, personal care and cleaning items on Wednesday afternoons.

Donations from local businesses and supporters sustain the Batesville Food Pantry.

Non-perishable items can be dropped off in the collection boxes at St. Mark’s Lutheran or St. Louis Catholic Church at any time or can be brought to the pantry by appointment.

Monetary donations can be mailed to Batesville Food Pantry, P.O. Box 383, Batesville, IN 47006 or submitted through the website, www.batesvillefoodpantry.org using the “Donate” button.

The Batesville Food Pantry is a ministry of the Batesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) which is a fellowship of churches serving the Batesville and Oldenburg communities, regardless of denomination. BAMA financially supports the Batesville Food Pantry and provides the volunteers who staff the weekly distributions. The association also provides emergency funds for local needs.
