Florence Neal of Dillsboro passed away September 29, 2020 at Ridgewood Health in Lawrenceburg. Florence was born Monday, July 26, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Harry Dennis and Ila (Stamper) Dennis. She married her husband, Elmer Neal, on December 20, 1945. Florence loved to paint landscapes and crochet. She enjoyed her time with her family and friends while being on the farm. Additionally, Florence was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship, the Ladies Auxiliary in Dillsboro, and was a clerk at the Dillsboro Post Office.
Florence is survived by her sons Mark Neal (Cheryl) of Dillsboro and Fred Neal (Lucille) of Lafayette, Indiana; brother Bill Dennis (Ruby) of Dillsboro; sister Mary Evans (Larry) of Dillsboro; and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ila Dennis; her husband Elmer Neal; as well as four brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held from 11 AM-1 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately after at 1 PM with Pastor Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.
