(Southeastern IN)- The first snow of the season – specifically, the amount – caught a lot of people off guard this morning.

Indiana State Police reported numerous crashes and slide offs along I-74 in Decatur, Ripley and Dearborn counties.

A bad wreck was reported at the intersection of State Roads 350 and 129 in the Delaware area of Ripley County.

Below freezing temperatures combined with the snow to create a lot of slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Ripley and Decatur counties went under yellow travel advisories because of the hazardous road conditions. Decatur County lifted its advisory at Noon but emergency management officials say you should continue to drive with caution since weather conditions can suddenly change.
