(Southeastern IN) – The National Weather Service says a prolonged period without rainfall, winds gusting to 25-30 mph, relative humidity as low as 35 percent, and unseasonably warm temperatures have increased the threat of wildfires today.
Forecasters say grasses and leaf litter are very receptive to fire. Ignition is likely and fire spread will be quick.
You’re urged to be aware of the potential for grass and brush fires that may rapidly spread today.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
Call 911 if you see an unattended fire.
