FC Conservation Workshop Next Month

(Brookville, IN) –  The 20th Annual Franklin County Conservation Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 12 inside the Franklin County Farmers Mutual 4H Expo Hall at the Franklin County 4H Fairgrounds in Brookville.

Featured speakers include:

  • Lisa Hollars and Lucas Fledderman, Franklin County USDA, will discuss producer and land eligibility for enrolling in conservation programs, requirements for maintaining program compliance, and the soil health and water quality benefits of conservation practices.
  • Anna Morrow, Midwest Cover Crops, will provide an overview of Midwest Cover Crops resources, including how to get started, cover crop recipes, the cover crop field guide, and selector tools.
  • Veronica Bullock, Purdue Extension Franklin County, will present an update from the Office of the Indiana State Chemist on regulatory changes related to endangered species and new pesticide labeling requirements.

This event will offer PARP, CCH, and CEU credits for private and commercial applicators and Certified Crop Advisers. PARP credits are sponsored by the Indiana Soybean Alliance and Indiana Corn Marketing Council.

  • Crop Management: 0.5
  • Professional Development: 0.5

There is no cost to attend the workshop. However, registration is required by Thursday, March 5.
