(Franklin County, IN) – A expectant mother and her unborn daughter were killed in a head-on crash on the 2,000 block of South County Line Road in the Batesville area Friday afternoon.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Natalie Anne Rennekamp was driving a pickup truck south on County Line Road when her vehicle went left of center and struck a dump truck driven by 43-year-old Joshua Baker.
Rennekamp was taken to Margaret Mary Health where she and her unborn child were pronounced dead.
Baker was not injured.
Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies received assistance at the scene from the Greensburg Fire Department, Batesville EMS, and the Ripley County Coroner’s Office.
This is the second fatality crash in the past week that Franklin County deputies have investigated; 21-year-old Kathleen Scott of Cincinnati died in a single-vehicle wreck at the intersection of State Road 1 and U.S. 52 near Cedar Grove last Monday.
