Batesville, In. — Batesville-based “Eureka Band” will perform at Liberty Park tonight in the bandstand from 8 to 9 p.m. Residents are urged to bring blankets and lawn chairs because seating is limited.
The band is often referred to as the “the oldest continuous all-volunteer community band west of the Allegheny Mountains” by its members and was formed in 1887. The band performed several times at the Indianapolis 500 in the 1920’s and in 2009 the band released a CD.
