Dearborn County, IN — Visitors looking for an old-fashioned Fourth of July will find plenty to do in Southeast Indiana this weekend, as Dearborn County kicks off the Independence Day holiday with several great events.
First, get a jump start on the holiday at Holtkamp Winery & Vineyards, which will host an Independence Day Celebration featuring live music, brick oven pizza, and artisan crafts on Saturday, July 3. A picturesque property once named “Indiana’s “Farm Winery of the Year,” the estate winery in Northern Dearborn County offers a full slate of handcrafted vintages by the glass or by the bottle. More information is available at www.facebook.com/holtkampwinery.
Next, check out evening activities followed by the fireworks in the City of Aurora, also planned for Saturday, July 3. Bring your family and enjoy colonial crafts for kids beginning at 5 pm, followed by a revolutionary reenactment at 7 pm and live music at 8:30 pm. Then settle in for the fireworks display, which will be set off over the Ohio River beginning at dusk. More information is available at www.aurora.in.us.
Finally, gather your family and head for the City of Greendale, where the community’s annual Fourth of July Celebration will take place on the July Fourth holiday itself. Enjoy a full day of activities including a kids’ fishing derby, 5K walk and run, bike and golf cart parade, swimming at the Greendale Pool, music, and a spectacular fireworks display capping off the evening.
