Elizabeth “Liz” Hally, wife of Clarence Hally, mother of Samuel Hally, Pamela Jackson and Timothy Hally; Grandchildren, Lisa Anewalt, Bryan Bruegge, Jennifer Nicole Piatt, April Powell, Amber Jackson and Jake Hally; 8 great grandchildren; dear friend, Donna Hermesch.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Ada Espy. Graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1948. Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister, Edward, Samuel, & Jake Espy and Mary McKinzie; husband, Clarence Hally.
She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, having served as CCD teacher and reader. Member of Give-N-Take Garden Club, Night Extension Home Ec Club, former president of Lake Santee’s Women Club, served on the board of the Governor’s Commission for Alcohol & Drug abuse under Governor Bayh, member of AA since August 1977. Office secretary for Lake Santee Property Owners Association for 7 years, bookkeeper for September Place for 4 years and tax preparer for H&R Block in Greensburg and Columbus for 16 years. Worked on Decatur County traveling election board for 20 years.
While observing CDC and state guidelines for social distancing and required facial coverings, friends and family are invited to pay respects to Liz on Wednesday, March 24th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating and will be broadcast on the funeral home Facebook page. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorials may be made to the Southeastern Indiana Intergroup (seigaa.org).
