Edward J. Schuler, 90, Brookville

Edward J. Schuler, age 90, of Brookville, Indiana died Wednesday night May 16, 2018 at his residence in Brookville following a lengthy illness.

Born March 13, 1928 in Franklin County, Indiana he was one of three children of the late Jacob & Hilda P. (Harnishfeger) Schuler. On September 14, 1948 he was united in marriage to the former Fanny Morgan and she survives.

Ed was retired, having been the Superintendent of the Franklin County Park for many years. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Brookville; and was a former member and past president of the Local 904 IUE Union. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Besides Fanny, his loving wife of nearly 70 years, survivors include four daughters, Hilda (Terry) Johnson of Connersville, Indiana, Patricia (Bob) Cooley of Brookville, Indiana; Gayle (Charles) Bolduc of Abingdon, Virginia and Sharon Schuler (Joshua Brown) of Brookville, Indiana; a son, James (Cindy Burns) Schuler of Connersville, Indiana; one sister, Josephine Stenger of St. Leon, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Arnold Schuler who died Sept. 3, 2014; two grandsons, as well as a sister, Delores Kuntz.

Family & friends may visit from 4 till 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville, where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M..

Rev. Shaun Whittington will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 10:30 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Brookville. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.
