EC Sweeps BHS in Dual Meet

(St. Leon, IN) – The Batesville Bulldogs swim teams were back in the pool Tuesday night, traveling to East Central for a dual meet as the regular season nears its close. Batesville athletes delivered several strong podium finishes and competitive relay swims against a deep Trojan lineup.

The boys final score was East Central 108, Batesville 62; on the girls side, EC 141, BHS 32.

On the girls’ side, Cora Miller led the Bulldogs with a third-place finish in the 100 Freestyle, touching the wall in 1:01.48. Miller was also a key contributor on the Batesville 200 Freestyle Relay, teaming with Grace Copley, Kate Fullenkamp, and Emma Miller to place third overall.

In the 500 Freestyle, Samantha Adams posted a solid fourth-place finish for Batesville, while teammates Emma Miller and Kate Fullenkamp rounded out the field with steady distance efforts. Alexis Schiller added another podium result by placing third in the 100 Backstroke, continuing her consistent late-season form.

The Bulldogs closed the night strong in relays, with the Batesville A 400 Freestyle Relay (Reillee Adams, Cora Miller, Emma Miller, Samantha Adams) earning a third-place finish.

The boys’ team saw several standout swims as well. Matthew Lambert placed third in the 100 Butterfly, while Sam Richardson earned a third-place finish in the 100 Freestyle and followed it up with a second-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke.

Distance racing was another highlight, as Ben Kuntz claimed second place in the 500 Freestyle, battling through the full race to secure valuable points for the Bulldogs. Batesville also earned a runner-up finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay, with the B team of Brody Gibson, Sam Richardson, Matthew Lambert, and Ben Kuntz turning in one of the team’s strongest relay performances of the night.

The meet concluded with the 400 Freestyle Relay, where the Batesville A relay finished second overall, closing the dual on a competitive note.
