At Tuesday’s 16-team Connersville Cross Country Invitational, East Central won the girls meet over Centerville. The Trojans also placed fourth as the top local team in the boys race.
East Central’s Rachel Campbell was the individual girls’ winner in a time of 20:52.

Franklin County coach Stacey Nobbe highlighted senior Ben Maze was the team’s top finisher placing 23rd with a time of 19:06. Junior Harmon Marshall had a season best 19:35. Sophomore Owen Darwish is still dropping his time and finished just three places behind senior Eric Schwab with his new best time of 22:13.
“He is really becoming a competitor,” Nobbe said.
The Franklin County girls were not able to compete as a team but Nobbe said freshman Esther George ran her best race of the season (by 57 seconds) in 23:17, earning her 21st place. Junior Kenzie Rogers had her best race of the season bringing her time under 30 minutes.
North Decatur coach Kyle Nobbe reported Jenna Walton led the Lady Chargers finishing 17th with a time of 23:04 while Kaysar Bowles led ND boys in 21:41.
