The East Central Senior Dance Team competed in the Showcase Nationals over the weekend. The team took first in Jazz, Lyrical and Pom. Seconds were earned in Hip Hop, Jazz Choreography and Lyrical Show Design. They also earned second overall in the Best of the Best competition with their Pom routine.
And for the third consecutive year, the group earned the title of Grand Champions in the Senior Classic division. There’s a pretty cool five-feet tall trophy that goes along with it.
The ECDT Junior Team also competed at Nationals and placed fourth in Jazz and Lyrical and took fifth in Pom and Hip Hop. The juniors were eighth overall in their Best of the Best Competition with their Hip Hop routine.
Franklin County’s Dancz Team had a great day at Showcase Nationals as well. The team won the Kick category, placed second in the Open category and earned the second place Judges Award for Technique and Showmanship. The Catz Hip Hop routine was up for Best of the Best and took third overall.
Team members Macie Fohl, Chloe Cowen and Shaden Galyen all received $1000 scholarships.
For Batesville, soloist Riley Bailey placed 10th out of 24 dancers with a Showcase Star rating.
The team placed sixth in Lyrical, fourth in Jazz and second in Kick, all with Ultimate Star ratings.
We thank everyone who contributed to the Showcase Nationals information.
