East Central FFA members compete in ‘Livestock Skillathon’

Osgood, In. — Last week, East Central High School FFA members competed in the Area 1 Livestock Skillathon CDE at South Ripley High School for the first time.

Members identified several different types of breeds, livestock equipment, feeds, and meats. They also answered questions about the industry and quality assurance. There were 16 members who competed.

The senior team of Madison Shumate, Maddie Dawson, Megan Sierra, and Jacob Kuhn placed 3rd, and the team of Amelia Hartman, Heath Doll, Alex Dudley, and Madison McAdams placed 7th. The junior team of Bradley Kolb, William Scudder, Lydia Kidd, and Brady Hornberger placed 3rd in their division, and the team of Isaac Hartman and Lloyd Darringer placed 4th. Emma Gutfreund and Andrew Rennekamp competed as individuals.
