Brookville, IN — On Sunday, shortly after noon, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene of a one-vehicle, personal injury accident on US 52, just east of Yellow Bank Road. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a tree across US 52 and a vehicle off of the south side of the roadway.
Heather Hentz, 35, of Laurel, was westbound on US 52, in a 2005 Nissan Murano. Hentz told Deputies that she swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. The vehicle went off of the south side of the roadway, through a ditch before striking a tree. The tree broke off and fell across the hood of Hentz’s vehicle and onto US 52.
Hentz was transported by Brookville E.M.S. #2, to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Brookville and Metamora Volunteer Fire Departments, Brookville E.M.S. #2, and Responder 24.
