Doris Mae Maudlin, 88, Greensburg

Doris Mae Maudlin, 88, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 27, 1937, in Dearborn, Michigan, the daughter of Luis and Gertrude (Southwood) Stotsenburg.

Doris graduated from St. Paul High School and continued her education at the Marion General Nursing Program. She devoted more than 40 years of her life to nursing, serving with compassion and dedication until her retirement at the age of 62. Her commitment to caring for others left a lasting impact on all who knew and worked with her.

On March 15, 1957, Doris married the love of her life, Max G. Maudlin. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with devotion and mutual respect, lasting 60 years until Max’s passing on January 15, 2017. Together, they built a strong and loving family and a life filled with shared joys.

Doris enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, keeping her home beautifully cared for, and reading. She was known for her gentle nature, strong work ethic, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life.

She is survived by her four daughters, Trudy (Kenney) Ewing, Tracy (Jim) Ingram, Tricia Scripture, and Trina (Brian) Ingmire. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Megan (Robert) Brancamp, Kelsey (Chris) Puckett, Leah Scott, Amanda Ruble, Eric (Christine) Scripture, Max (Andrew) Scripture, Keelyn Ingmire, and Tristan Ingmire; and eight great-grandchildren, Sophie Scott, Ryan Brancamp, Easton Brancamp, Declan Brancamp, Rush Puckett, Wilder Puckett, Scout Puckett, and Isla Scripture.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max; her sisters, Joan Springmeier and Judy Greenlee; her son-in-law, Jeff Scripture; and her great-grandchild, Alexondra Brancamp.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. Memorials may be made to the Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter or Animal Outreach of Shelby County.

Doris will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family, and the love she shared so generously throughout her life.
