DOR Answers Top Tax Return Question

(Statewide) – “Where’s my refund?”

The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) says that’s the number one question from customers.

DOR has two ways you can get an answer without waiting on hold to speak with Customer Service.

Those are online via INTIME or through the automated refund line at (317) 232-2240 (choose option 3).

You’ll need your primary or spouse’s Social Security number or a taxpayer ID and the exact amount of your expected refund. You won’t need to log into INTIME to get the information.

DOR says to allow a minimum of three weeks for electronically filed returns and 12 weeks for paper-filed returns.

Your refund could be delayed if information is missing or if there is a mathematical error. The agency will then request additional information.

If you owe, you can pay on INTIME.
