Dennis F. Smith, 69, of Dillsboro passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dennis was born Monday, February 26, 1951 to the late Bernice (Lawler) and Jac Smith. He married Karen Hutslar October 1993 and she survives. Dennis retired after working for Swift’s gas station in Aurora for many years. He enjoyed fishing and his hobby included magic the gathering card game.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Karen, of Dillsboro; stepdaughters Rhiannon Frazee of Dillsboro and Misty Mack of Napoleon; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 9 – 10 AM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday also at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.
