Dennis Ray Clarkson-71-Westport

Dennis Ray Clarkson, 71, of Westport, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at his residence. He was born on August 11, 1951 in Seymour, the son of George W. & Juanita (Buchanan) Clarkson. He grew up in Jennings and Decatur County and was an area resident of Westport. He enjoyed farming and taking care of livestock. Dennis married Virginia Ailes on August 12, 2012 in Butlerville, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Chad Clarkson and Jason Clarkson both of North Vernon; sister, Georgetta Gilmore of Columbus; brothers, Gene (Ruth) Clarkson of Westport, Gerry Clarkson of North Vernon and Bobby Clarkson of Seymour; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Robbins and brother, Harold Clarkson. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at the Vernon Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
