Dennis Michael DiGiusto passed away on September 6, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana, after a five-year battle with cancer.
He was born to Dennis and Marcia (Carson) DiGiusto on June 4, 1975, in Quincy, Massachusetts. He grew up in Indianapolis with his two younger brothers, Christopher and Anthony, and was surrounded by an extensive network of family and friends. Denny enjoyed being a Boy Scout during his time at St. Mark’s Grade School. He then went on to Southport High School where he played on the soccer team and participated in Summer Field Studies. Denny chose to pursue a degree in Political Science at the University of Evansville. During his time there he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and studied abroad at Harlaxton University in England.
After college, Denny’s career led him to Eli Lilly, where he devoted many years to Clinical Data Sciences. He found deep purpose in his work and took pride in contributing to research that helped improve lives.
Denny met his wife Emily (Hermesch) in 2002 and they married on October 8, 2005. Denny and Emily loved to travel, and were fortunate to see much of the world. They lived in New Zealand for two years while Denny completed his master’s degree in Information Management at Victoria University, Wellington.
The greatest joys of Denny’s life came with his three children: Louis (15), Beatrix (13), and Francis (9). Denny took immense pride in his roles as father and provider for his family. His successful career enabled them to travel throughout the United States and Europe. They were also fortunate to live in several historic homes in the beautiful neighborhood of Irvington which they love.
Denny was a wonderful father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
In addition to Emily and the children, he is survived by his mother, Marcia, brother Chris (Julie), brother Anthony (Liz), brother-in-law Scott Hermesch (Amy), sister-in-law Alicia Schwering (Bryan), sister-in-law Clair Hermesch, eleven nieces and nephews, father- and mother-in-law Dale & Sara Hermesch, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis DiGiusto, and a nephew, Seamus DiGiusto.
