Dennis Leon “Denny” Brown, 70, of Rising Sun, IN, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2019 at his residence. Denny was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 24th, 1948, a son of the late Mescal (Koons) and Denver Louis Brown. Denny grew up in the Ohio County community and was a 1967 graduate of Rising Sun High School. Denny married Connie Joy (Grace) Brown on January 22nd, 1977 at the Rising Sun First United Church of Christ. Denny and Connie were married over 42 years until his passing.
Denny was a truck driver most of his life and last worked for Besl Transfer in Cincinnati, OH. With Connie’s encouragement, Denny obtained his auctioneer’s license in 1977. This began a long side career for Denny and Connie, working many auctions and estate sales. Denny was an auctioneer for the Ohio County 4-H Fair Livestock Auction for many years. He also had worked as an electrician and logged trees. Denny was a true outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and playing golf. He also enjoyed horse pulling. Denny attended the Holmes Hill Church of Christ.
Denny is survived by his wife, Connie Brown, of Rising Sun, IN; by daughter Chrissy Heller and husband Doug of Moores Hill, IN; by daughter Shelly Roth and husband Brian of Dillsboro, IN; by granddaughters Kaylin and Brittany; by great-grandchildren Asylan and Conner; by a sister, Rita Green and husband Gary of Rising Sun, IN; by his aunts, Marjorie BonDurant, Carolyn Baker and Wanda Brown and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, September 2nd at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Evangelist Tommy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 1st from 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
