DECATUR COUNTY, IN — The National Weather Service confirms that a tornado touched down in southeastern Decatur County Wednesday night.
A damage survey team says the EF-0 tornado was on the ground for about two minutes and hit three miles west of Millhousen.
An EF-0 tornado is classified by the Enhanced Fujita Scale as “weak,” with wind speeds ranging from 65 to 85 miles per hour.
The agency says top speeds reached 84 miles per hour.
There were no injuries reported and damage from the twister was limited.
A lean-to roof and wall on the side of a farm outbuilding were demolished, with debris tossed around.
A small horse trailer was picked up and thrown to the north side of County Road 800 South.
A 2 x 4 was driven into the ground near the damaged building.
And sheet metal, roofing, and wood were picked up and thrown by the twister.
There were a few additional reports of damage in the area from Wednesday night’s storms.
A large tree was toppled on Adams Church Road; construction signs were blown down near Osgood, and a tree blocked Mt. Pleasant Road near Bright.
