Decatur County native, Indiana State Police veteran announces retirement

Versailles, In. — Twenty-seven year veteran of the Indiana State Police Department Jim Ponsler has announced his retirement.

Ponsler is a 1983 graduate of South Decatur High School, a 1985 graduate of Vincennes University and four-year U.S. Army veteran. After working on the family farm he was selected for the 49th class of the Indiana State Police Academy. Initially working Harrison County from the Sellersburg Post he transferred to the Versailles Post.

Ponsler has also been very active in the Decatur County community and local racing.
