The ordinance says it is unlawful to cause, knowingly permit to be operated or moved any vehicle over a gross weight of 26,000 pounds. The limits apply to the following roads:

  • County Road 420 West between County Roads 800 South & 950 South
  • County Road 950 South between County Road 420 West and State Road 3

The ordinance makes exceptions for fire apparatus, vehicles transporting farm commodities if the transport begins or terminates on one of the roads designated and machines/vehicles that can be moved without damaging the roadway.

Violators could receive a class C citation. Highway workers will place appropriate signs in the coming weeks.
