David Lynn Lade, 77, of Dillsboro passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. David was born on Wednesday, November 5, 1947, in Marion, Kansas; son of Alvin and Florence (Bristol) Lade. David married the love of his life, Barbara (Niebrugge) Lade, on January 15, 1972, and she survives him. David worked as an inspector of Indiana Department of Transportation. David served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Dillsboro American Legion Post #292. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Aurora Eagles, NRA, and NMLRA. David was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He also loved going on Sunday drives, gardening, and shooting guns.
David will be missed by his wife Barbara Lade of Dillsboro; son Michael (Christy) Lade of Anderson; daughter Traci (Dave Brashear) Young of Dillsboro; siblings Monica (Ray) Parker, Larry (Brenda) Lade, Charles Lade, Marcus Lade, Ella (Ron) Colwell, Kathy (Dean) Cutter, John Lade, and Joy (Bobby) Richards; and grandchildren Josie Lade, Ella Lade, Ava Young, and Mikey Young.
David was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Florence Lade and sister Linda Lee Lade.
Family and friends may gather in remembering David from 9:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church: 9901 Central Ave, Dillsboro, IN 47018. Services will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Kolaskey officiating. A military walkthrough will be held at 10:45 AM before the start of services. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery with military rites provided by Dillsboro American Legion Post #292. Memorials may be given in honor of David to Trinity Lutheran Church or Oakdale Cemetery Association.
