David H. “Leroy” Gault, 71, of Moores Hill passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at The Waters of Rising Sun. Dave was born on Wednesday, March 3, 1954, in Milan; son of Harold and Mildred (Meyer) Gault. Dave married the love of his life, Vanessa (Baker) Gault, in 1981, and she survives him. Dave was a previous member of Washington Baptist Church in Elrod. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local #525 and worked at Hillenbrand Batesville Casket Company for almost 40 years. Dave was a sports enthusiast and loved to attend and talk about many sporting events. He enjoyed going to all his eight granddaughters sporting events to cheer them on. He also loved to work in his garden. Dave played basketball and baseball for Milan High School. After graduating he continued to play in multiple men’s softball leagues as well.
Dave will be missed by his wife Vanessa Gault of Moores Hill; son Joe Gault of Sunman; daughters Amber (Josh) Veid of Greendale and Andrea (Tony) Hollaran of Rising Sun; brother Gary (Karen) Gault of Cleves; and 8 granddaughters.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mildred Gault.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Dave from 2:00-4:00 PM, Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Bruce Fitzsimmons officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Dave to The Waters of Rising Sun (in the memo) Melissa Hood Activity Fund.
