David Allen “Dave” Rohrer Sr., age 75, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, entered this life on August 14, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a son of James Arthur and Faith Carol (Toole) Rohrer. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and was 1967 graduate of Taylor High School in Cleves, Ohio. Dave was inducted into the United States Navy on July 12, 1967. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was transferred to the reserves on May 12, 1971 in Bainbridge, Maryland. He was honorably discharged on July 23, 1973 with the rank of Engineman 3rd Class. Dave was united in marriage on February 17, 1973 to Janice Deems in Newport, Kentucky and this union was blessed with three children. Dave passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at his residence in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice; his sons, David Rohrer, II. of Lawrenceburg, IN and Danny and Susan (Roever) Rohrer of Manchester, IN; his daughter, Heather Rohrer and Dennis Brown of Lawrenceburg, IN; Dave’s grandchildren, Elle, Eli, Emmett, Isabel and Grace; Dave’s step-grandchildren, Olivia and Lillian; his brother, Mike and Pam Rohrer of Cincinnati, OH; his sister, Miki Wiseman of Harrison, IN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Emily Frances Rohrer; his sister, Sandra Allender and his brothers, Bruce, Arthur and Danny Rohrer.
Interment Services and full military rites will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024, by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road, Madison, Indiana.
