Daryl Boggs, of Oldenburg, passed away peacefully in the company of loved ones on October 20, 2025, at age 72. He was born to David and Eunice (Carr) Boggs on August 4, 1953. Daryl was raised on a farm in Campbell County, Kentucky, and he graduated from Campbell County High School in 1971. After high school, he moved with his family to Oldenburg, Indiana, where he built a good life. Daryl worked for Sperry Plastics in Brookville until he moved to Batesville Casket Company, from which he retired after 40-plus years.
Daryl’s main passion and hobby was training horses and trail riding. In his later years, he could be found watching his grandkids show livestock in 4-H, play at the ball field, shoot in archery competitions, and dance in recitals.
Daryl is survived by daughter Karen Patterson (Brad) of Oldenburg and son Chris Boggs (Allison) of Connersville; grandchildren Cassie, Will, Sam, Annie, and Claire; siblings Tom Boggs and Pat (Rick) Flodder; his former wife Betty (Moll) Rominger; Sandy’s children Ron Koch and Kendra Niese and their families; and many nieces and nephews.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents and beloved partner Sandy Koch.
Visitation is Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4-7 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, Indiana, officiated by Fr.
