Daniel Joe Wilson, age 72, of Metamora, Indiana died Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati following a brief illness.
Born January 7, 1954 in Batesville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Cecil & Rosella (Wyatt) Wilson. He was united in marriage to the former Beverly Diane Ott, and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2001.
Danny retired after more than 25 years of service as a welder at Batesville Casket Company. In his leisure time he enjoyed NASCAR, the outdoors, hunting & fishing, as well as keeping his yard mowed and property maintained. He also volunteered in Old Metamora, where he helped with various events.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Brandy Todd of Metamora; five grandchildren, Evan Todd, Gabby (Alex) Ripperger, Braxton Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Kierstin Wilson; a step-sister, Theresa Lanning, a step-brother, John Brummett.
In addition to his parents and wife, Beverly, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Erma Wilson, siblings Cecil R. Wilson, Randy Wilson, Raymond Wilson, Rita Wilson, William H. Wilson, Wilma Allen, Samuel Wilson, Carol Ison, Jack Brummett, and a step son, Dustin Fasbinder.
Friends may visit from 12:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville.
Rev. Wayne Ison will officiate the Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. He will then be laid to rest at Cupps Chapel Cemetery in Metamora.
