(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg Mayor’s Youth Council has surpassed its goal to raise money to add color to the North Park basketball courts with a few days to spare before the deadline.

Twenty-five donors helped the youth council raise more than $17,660 as of Friday morning through its crowdfunding campaign, which ensures the group will receive a matching grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s My Community, My Vision program.

The students from Greensburg, North and South Decatur, and St. Mary’s were tasked with raising $15,000 by this Sunday’s deadline for a project to enhance the area by creating ground murals on the existing basketball courts.

The youth are also working with the Decatur County Parks and Recreation to purchase new basketball goals and nets, benches, and landscaping.
