Appeals court denies state’s attempt to delay restart of pandemic jobless benefits

Indianapolis, IN — The State of Indiana’s attempt to delay the reinstatement of federal pandemic unemployment benefits has been denied by the Indiana Court of Appeals.

The ruling comes after a Marion County judge ordered the state to restart the weekly $300 benefits for unemployed Hoosiers.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says they expect to re-start payments by the end of this week.

Meantime, the state will continue its appeal.
