(Batesville, IN) – INDOT contractors are scheduled to close North Huntersville Road over I-74 in Batesville on or after next Monday (March 31) to complete a bridge replacement project.
The closure will take place between County Road 700 South and State Road 46, and is expected to last until late August, weather permitting.
Additional work will take place under flagging operations following the closure.
While the road is closed, motorists should use the official detour route which follows County Road 700 South to State Road 229 to State Road 46.
Periodic shoulder closures and rolling slowdowns will be used on I-74 while bridge work is in progress.
INDOT says it will provide additional information as needed.
This work is part of a $2.6 million contract awarded to Sunesis Construction Company in September 2024.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
