Clear snow around hydrants

Statewide — If you have a fire hydrant near your house, do your part to help keep it accessible in winter weather.

Remove any snow or ice and clear a wide enough perimeter around the hydrant for firefighters to work. About 3 feet in all directions of the hydrant will be sufficient. Also, clear a path from the hydrant to the street.

This will help save your local firemen some time if they need to make a hydrant connection in an emergency.
