Clarence Hammons, age 92, formerly of Covington, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at his home in Bunnell, Florida. He was born on June 7, 1929, in Cincinnati to Johnie and Myrtle (Poindexter) Hammons. After attending school Clarence served his country in The Unites States Army. On May 31, 1957, he married Ada Carlene Lyon at Adams Lutheran Church, Batesville.
Clarence retired from Ford Motor Company in 1986, with 33 years of employment at the Sharonville plant. After retiring, he quickly found his retirement home in Bunnell, FL where he moved to in 1987. Clarence was a hard worker providing for his family, and spent any extra time he had from working, enjoying time with them, not leaving time for hobbies. During his retirement, he stayed busy watching the news, attempting to stay up to date in the fast-changing world.
Clarence is survived by his children: son, Steven Hammons of Palm Coast, FL, daughter, Kimberly (Dale) Shiffman of Fairfield, OH, son, Mark (Karen) Hammons of Hamilton, OH, daughter, Donna Jean Adkins of Georgetown, KY; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ada Carlene Hammons, parents Johnie and Myrtle Hammons, son, Kenneth, daughter, Carol and 9 siblings.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 28, 2022, 1:00 pm at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home 109 Vine St. Sunman, IN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am till the time of service. Burial will follow at Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery 9733 N. Adams Church Rd. Batesville.
