BATESVILLE, IN — The City of Batesville has accepted a purchase agreement with an Indianapolis company for the Industrial Shell Building.
“The purchase agreement means that the negotiations will start,” said Economic Development Director Sarah Lamping. ” We do not intend to close until October. There’s a lot of due diligence that needs to be done behind the scenes.
“We need to make sure all of the “I’s” are dotted and the “T’s” are crossed.”
About 30 jobs would come to town over a three- to five-year period. Lamping says the number of jobs could grow somewhat, and that automation is a big part of the unidentified company’s manufacturing process.
The Shell Building has been on the city’s radar for a number of years.
Lamping made the announcement at Monday’s Batesville City Council meeting.
